Today is the day our local paper runs the story on my blog. Little did I realize it would be almost 3 pages of story, along with two online videos. Pretty cool indeed! I hope you enjoy it, I know my Mom and Dad will!

I did enjoy it, and I’m very impressed. Congratulations on a huge accomplishment!
Not long ago I went vegetarian for an entire year, mostly as a challenge to myself to see if I could do it. When the year was up and I was able to eat meat again, it was a bit of a psychological challenge. Was I really ready to go back? Should I just dive in and grab a burger, or go out for some fancy meal? Should it be “an occasion” or just like any other day?
I’ll be curious to hear how you deal with “going back”. I see that you already have your wish list of foods you’re dying to eat, but I want to hear if some of the same questions/issues I had come up for you? Will you make an event of eating those cheese puffs, or will you just pop open a bag while surfing the internet…?
I’ll also be curious after a couple weeks to see how you feel with the added sodium, etc., of prepared foods.
Good luck!
Tim
Pam, I read about your Year of Inconvenience in the JS on Wednesday, and by Friday was making your fabulous corn tortillas and pork carnitas. Don’t have a tortilla press yet (although I can see the wisdom in getting one) so the tortillas were a bit “rustic”, but otherwise dinner was a total win. I’ve now subscribed to your blog, and am working my way through your year – kind of sorry I’m just getting in at the end, but I have a feeling your blog will be something I return to for inspiration and recipes even after April 2011. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experiences.
Wow thanks Terri – nice to have you following me…. well the blog that is. A tortilla press really helps you get a thin dough, since when you cook them the dough does expand a bit. If you live in Milwaukee, I’d suggest El Rey Mexican grocery for the press.
